you know you live in a city when…

November 5, 2014
  • you see your two legs as the most efficient mode of transportation
  • farmer’s markets and over-priced mimosas become your new saturday morning
  • graffiti looks like art
  • waiting outside with your neighbors during fire alarms are the closest you’ll come to a town hall meeting
  • the metro actually doesn’t smell that bad
  • dogs barking, interspersed with a car honking, are a symphony outside your bedroom window
  • you begin to carry everything with you {everything includes: deodorant, cash, a cell phone charger, umbrella, earbuds, a paperback, cvs coupons, an assortment of granola bars, a change of shoes and a cardigan}
  • jaywalking across your street makes you feel “home”
