and then
November 6, 2012
i was driving down 16th street in the early morning hours. i was marvelling at the white house just down the road, the american flag visible atop its roof. i was thinking about how wonderful it is to be given the right to vote. i was sitting at a stoplight, pondering how cold that block-long line of voters must be standing outside that church at 6:53 in the morning. and then.
i was cut off by a taxi.
though i haven’t voted yet today, i am thankful to be american. and thankful for the right to vote. and i will exercise my right, god and taxi cabs willing, this afternoon.
