2 much 2 eat

March 26, 2012

it’s a turning point in the lenten season.  with easter only two weeks away (hallelujah!) i’ve started to stock pile candy, salivate over every cupcake and bon bon that crosses my path, and plan for the all out warfare on sweets i’ll launch on easter sunday.  grandma’s traditional lamb cake and egg bake are musts on my easter menu, as are coconut m&m’s and reese’s peanut butter eggs.  check out these other easter sweets that caught the attention of my eyeballs and taste buds…

i don’t love marshmallows unless they’re in fruit fluff so i may not eat these little lamb marshmallow and milano cupcakes.  but they’re super cute to look at.  extra bonus points for food that you can play with.

this blogger is pretty much a magician.  replicating the ooey gooey goodness of the inside of a cadbury cream egg?  and surrounding it in a shell of cookie dough?  a better trick than jesus rising from the tomb!

these have absolutely nothing to do with easter.  except for the fact that they are the most efficient vehicle for shoveling all of my favorite sweets into my face at one time.  after 40 days, i want to cover myself with coconut.  pile on the peanut butter.  choke on chocolate chips.  ok…maybe not.  but how dreamy do these coconut peanut butter magic bars look?  yes.  and please.

2 weeks people.  2 weeks.  and for the next 2 weeks i’ll be stock piling easter candy (and recipes) and noshing on my cinnamon swirl oatmeal, salivating over the moment church lets out and i skip home in my easter frock to dive into a sweets smorgasbord.
