ide stay home if i were you, caesar

March 15, 2012

“the ides of march have come,” said julius caesar.

“aye, caesar; but not gone,” said the seer.

just a little dramatic interpretation of the ides of march.  did you know that the ides of any month means the middle?  the word ides comes from the latin “idus,” which means half division.  caesar was warned by a seer that he would be murdered on the ides of march.  and he was.  he was stabbed 23 times by a gang (led by marcus junius brutus) in 44 b.c.

**lemme guess dad, you’re going to say something about how caesar sure does make a good salad.  har!  har!
